  18. I got a new AT 1200 that has problems with HDDs that contact the A1200
  19. ground or shielding metal with their case.
  20. The problem began when I built in the first HDD (a Conner 2.5 inch)
  21. in the usual way (on the provided piece of metal) in the Computer:
  22. As long as the HDD is only connected via the cable it works fine
  23. but when its case contacts the A1200s ground - which happens automatically
  24. when it's built in - the access time drops down by 50% and IO-errors
  25. (told as checksum errors from the workbench requester) occur from time
  26. to time.
  27. Because I believed the cause was an error in the HDD I bought me a new
  28. one - now a Seagate 3.5 inch - and the same error occurred. It works
  29. fine until the case of the drive touches the metal shields of the 1200.
  30. I can hardly mount the 3.5 inch HDD without screwing on the shield metal
  31. so I would like to know the cause of the problem.

  33. I already checked the power supply and the two HDDs.
  34. Any guesses or similar experiences?
