- Hello technicians!
-
- I got a new AT 1200 that has problems with HDDs that contact the A1200
- ground or shielding metal with their case.
- The problem began when I built in the first HDD (a Conner 2.5 inch)
- in the usual way (on the provided piece of metal) in the Computer:
- As long as the HDD is only connected via the cable it works fine
- but when its case contacts the A1200s ground - which happens automatically
- when it's built in - the access time drops down by 50% and IO-errors
- (told as checksum errors from the workbench requester) occur from time
- to time.
- Because I believed the cause was an error in the HDD I bought me a new
- one - now a Seagate 3.5 inch - and the same error occurred. It works
- fine until the case of the drive touches the metal shields of the 1200.
- I can hardly mount the 3.5 inch HDD without screwing on the shield metal
- so I would like to know the cause of the problem.
-
- I already checked the power supply and the two HDDs.
- Any guesses or similar experiences?
-

- Markus
